Currently, there are only two weapon tokens flagged as Returning. Can you think of any other weapons that should have that tag?

Just to be clear, I'm inquiring about weapons that inherently have the Returning property. I'm not asking about tokens such as Benrow's Elder Drake Necklace that can bestow the Returning property on another token.

Thanks 🙂

I honestly thought there was 1 more, but I can neither find it or remember. So I think you are correct that there are only 2 that inherently have returning, though I hope I am wrong and someone else figures out the 3rd one I thought existed...lol.

The only one I remember us discussing previously, but wouldn't count for this, would be Skull of Doom. It returns to the user at the end of combat (not collected), but does not return each round.

At one point the Turkey Leg had returning, but that never made it out of beta/discussions. Maybe that is what you were thinking of?

Warning: Extreme Pedantry Ahead
Skull of Doom does not automatically return to the owner's hand at the end of combat. Like all thrown weapons, it's usable only once per combat but can be picked up after combat is over. (By default, we assume all non-single-use weapons are retrieved after combat. You don't have to specify you're doing so.) But unlike most thrown weapons, no character may possess more than one Skull of Doom.

Regardless, I appreciate your input in this thread. 🙂

I think that’s it.

I recall discussions around Thor’s of formalizing a naming conventions around thrown and returning weapons to always include “returning” in the name of items that return.

I keep thinking there was an old UR +2 hammer that returned, but I can't find any reference to it, so I'm probably messed up. In my token files, I find the Dagger of Throwing and Thor's, but those are the only weapons. There are 3 items that grant returning to shurikens, Benrows, Necklace of the Spirit Drake and Ring of the Drake.

It's not a Weapon itself, so it probably doesn't qualify for your query, but the Monk's Gloves of The Flying Fist cause the Monk's hands to become returning weapons. That's probably just another "nope" to add to your list of things you *aren't* looking for.

Warning: More Completely Unnecessary Pedantry Ahead
Gloves of the Flying Fists do not cause any kind of magical dismemberment, temporarily or otherwise. When used to attack an opponent, tangible clones of the gloves magically launch themselves from the monk's hands toward the target and then dissipate as soon as the attack is completed. Nothing comes back to the monk except (hopefully) the satisfaction of contributing to the team's combat success.

Gloves of the Flying Fists are in the Melee for Ranged category.

I certainly appreciate your input though. 🙂
