TOPIC: 2026 General Campaign and Token Info

2026 General Campaign and Token Info 1 week 3 days ago #1

To give them their due attention, I am just releasing the Common through Rare tokens now. Please give me your considered opinions, and please let me know where I messed up. Thank you for your help in making a set of fun tokens for the haunted adventures coming in 2026. A big thanks to the folks in the Lords and Ladies section for helping to get the tokens to this excellent state.

Here is some general info about 2026 adventures that might be interesting with regard to the token design.

Count Craven: The absolute ruler of Cravenwood, he resides with perfect terror in Castle Craven near the center of the valley known as Cravenwood.

Cravenwood: A hidden valley concealed by an ever-present foul-smelling mist. It surrounds Craven Castle as well as various surrounding lands and villages. Only a few unlucky travelers are allowed to enter the area -- mayhap destined to be food or sport for the Count.

The Ten Saints: The righteous people of Cravenwood have long venerated ten ancient saints. Many gifts were created and given by the Ten Saints, and their aid will be vital for an adventuring group to overcome the evil of Cravenwood. There is an 11th Saint venerated by entertainers, but she is not associated with the Ten Saints.

The Order of the Dawn: It was created by Saint Raya before the Blight was released onto Cravenwood. She foresaw the coming evil, and she hoped to give the people of Cravenwood a means to defeat the invasive evil. Sadly, most of the formal order members have long been slain, but helpful items can be found scattered about Cravenwood. Dawn Set bonus: +1 to saves with 3-4 equipped, and +2 to saves if 5+ equipped.

Accursed: Monsters that include Undead and Lycans, plus any other special monster created when the Blight was cast upon Cravenwood by an unknown evil forest spirit.

Blight: This term has two uses. 1) The Blight was an evil curse visited upon the area around Cravenwood (and Craven Castle). 2) "Blighted" is a condition unique to Cravenwood that represents some evil magic that infests a being. Lycanthropy is one such Blight, but it could be something like "Rooted Legs" or "Black Tongue" which could effect a stricken character.

Baron Von Machenstein: A righteous tinkerer whose wife was sadly slain by Count Craven. The baron has gone mad in grief, but with wealful purpose. He creates magi-mechanical implements of war to battle the Accursed, and he seeks allies to make use of his sorrow-crafted weapons. Beware his madness.

Hunter Crossbow: These are specially designed crossbows were commissioned by a group of Hunters from the city of Swiftport (before the Blight). They were never picked up due to the arrival of the Blight. They are very easy to use -- thus all classes may use them (although they do slightly less damage). The mad tinkerer Baron VonMachenstein created these weapons, and he is eager to share them with the right sort of folk.

The Vonami: These travelling entertainers were recently guided into Cravenwood by Count Craven to bring new blood into his and his minions' diet. However, they have proven resistant to Accursed monster attacks, and the party may earn their respect as allies against the evil that dwells within Cravenwood.

Fate Cards
: These special 2026-only tokens that are "played" when a character takes damage. They reduce the damage, but they must be turned in. Only one Fate card may be used per room by a character. Two different Fate cards cannot be turned in within a room. It is just a bit of flavor fun.

The Triad: Long ago, when the realm of Cravenwood was unspoiled by evil magic, it was known as Neg Noc, three champions stepped forward during a time of great need. For a massive army of 8,000 invaders was coming, and Neg Noc was not ready for them. So, Lady Ashley, Sir Andrew and Sir Jason used powerful magicks to construct a massive fortress in a mere three days. In the end, the 8,000 rabid invaders were dealt with properly, and the Triad had gained great renown. Adventurers who are lucky enough to find their namesake items of great magical protection will gain even more power should they bring together the Triad armor, shield and helm.
